CKWL or Tatkal Waiting List

Hi ,
"CKWL"
If you have booked tatkal e-ticket and you seat shows status as "CKWL". CKWL mean you have booked ticket under tatkal quota "C(see)K(know)" and "WL" is waiting list.

Before 4-6 hours of train starting from source station, the chart is prepared. Once the chart is prepared and your PNR status shows waiting list in Tatkal Quota then money will be automatically refunded to your account. you don't have to cancel the ticket because if you will cancel the ticket then you will loose 25% of the reservation amount.

remember , you will also get an SMS for this PNR cancellation.
remember, you cannot travel on this waiting list ticket.

      If it is conformed then it is not refundable. If it is in CKWL then it is refundable......

    I have a doubt, i want to do my journey with 22693 rajdhani Exp on 21 Dec 13. and i decided to book a tatkal ticket on 20 Dec 13 from secunderabad to H.Nizzamuddin, although it is showing CKWL 12/WL 9. But where as if i book the tatkal ticket from source station that is Banglore to Nizzamuddin its showing Available 112.. Can any one let me know the solution.. thanks

    Today I was trying to book ticket in Narayanadri Express..
    Sharp at 10.00 A.M. and found 302 tatkal tickets are available , Immediately I have booked the 3 tickets the confirmation of payment all it took around 9 minutes. then I quite surprise to see that is booked against CKWL91,92,93.... How come within 3 to 5 minutes all 300 tickets are booked ... will it possible.

    I have booked online Tatkal today and recieved CKWL 2 Status and seeing this i immediately canceled it online and recieved an SMS saying "your WL Tkt cancelled,PNR, No amount will be refunded". Being an unconfirmed ticket and the train starts after 24 hours ie tommorow only i think its not fair!

    it is unfair to just refund flat 25% on cancellation of tatkal e tickets.....there should be very low ticket cancellation charges in india.

    what a good read! Very informative too. Cancelling confirmed tickets gives no refund by the way. For direct tatkal bookings, go to IRCTC Magic Autofills and check PNR status online.
